ENT, ACID REFLUX, TONSILLECTOMY

I’ve had Acid Reflux ever since my first pregnancy 33 years ago. Well in the last few years my Acid Reflux n my allergies are just awful n of course my ENT Dr doesn’t know which one is causing issues. Always feels like something stuck in my throat. Okay now unto One Of The Worst mistakes of my life. I was getting strep, tonsillitis n I asked my Dr should I have my tonsils out (BIG MISTAKE) he at first told me no, The surgery is to hard on older people 51 but then he seen how many times I got strep etc… I have always gotten strep n tonsillitis since I was a child. So my Dr told me I would benefit from a tonsillectomy because I both sides of my tonsils were filled with stones. So I had the Tonsillectomy 3 months 15 days ago n yes my Dr was right worst surgery I ever had but I got through all of that but I wasn’t healing So I told my Dr something is wrong. He said I’d heal between 2 weeks to a month. I went back 2 months after n I told him I cannot swallow at times, lump in my throat n wheezing especially at night. So he stuck the thing down my nose n he said I had a lil tightness n scar tissue but that he thinks it’s my Acid Reflux/Allergies n I’ve been getting 2 shots a week for my allergies, going on 5 years. He really didn’t seem to give a care, so I have done research online n I plan on going back to see if he can do anything to help. THE MORAL OF MY Story. Think twice before having a Tonsillectomy because it’s made my quality of life not so great n my anxiety level is horrible now worrying if I eat this is it gonna make my throat worse n I can’t breathe or swallow etc…Dr’s should not even do Tonsillectomy if you have bad Acid Reflux. Hope my experience helps someone n if anyone has any information about this, I would be FOREVER GRATEFUL. 🙏👏 if y’all would sharing any of your stories would be helpful🤞

Tonsillectomy/Reflux/ENT

I had Tonsillectomy surgery 3 months n 5 days ago. I wished my Dr would have told me if you have Reflux that having a Tonsillectomy Will make your Reflux so much Worse. So my advice if you have Reflux At All Is Do Not Have Tonsillectomy Surgery. My Dr has Not been much help, I actually have pretty much figured this all our thru the web. I went back to my Dr Twice n he stuck the thing down my nose n he said it was a little tight n I have some scar tissue n of course we already knew I had Reflux. I thought how can Reflux really make things worse. Well if your sitting in the movie theater n all of a sudden I cannot swallow. . . Well it’s enough to scare the crap out of you or it has me. So I’ve started noticing There it is again I cannot swallow. So I’m gonna call my ENT Dr so I can talk to him more on what I have to do to live a half way normal life now. I’m 52 n I’m also having wheezing with the Reflux now. Please speak with your Dr before having a Tonsillectomy if you already have Reflux because it truly hurts your quality of life n I pray Either this Dr will help me get it together. I read somewhere that you can have a laranex or speech pathologist that might can help with Reflux but I’m not sure. God Bless Everyone.

Tonsillectomy

I’m 51 and I had my tonsils out oct 25, 2016. All went well, yes worst surgery ever but I’ve gotten through it but my issues is not what happened at the beginning, mine is now. Two months out almost and I thought I was gonna be completely healed but I have to carry Ice water with me at all time and drink it. I feel like I have a sore throat n hard to breathe sometimes and this awful dryness that’s just not going away and I will be completely fine with this as long as I know this is going to end. My husband said maybe it’s scar tissue that’s taken so long to heal, just wished I knew that this will go away eventually. I am also a diabetic but I have it under decent control. My Dr and everyone else said two weeks to a month and I will be all healed. Well . . . My month has passed and I’m still having issues. If I think about it long enough I’ll start having anxiety about it. Thinking I’m gonna have to live like this forever. Does anyone know if this will go away. Thanks for any insight.
